What’s important to IHAD

For nonprofit organizations, a clear mission is essential. It drives everything your staff and volunteers do. We looked at all of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation mission statements across our affiliates and put them together in a “wordle,” to boil them down to their essence and see what we’re saying is most important:

Education. Children. Enrichment. Communities. It’s all in the mix.

We impact our Dreamers and their families so deeply, but for our efforts to be sustainable, we must tie what we do to the greater community. Everyone is a stakeholder when it comes to educating and empowering the next generation. This New York Times opinion piece on “The True Cost of High School Dropouts” does a great job of connecting the dots and shows the positive ripple effect programs like “I Have a Dream” can have on a larger community.
